Chana Binder
Founder, Principal Designer
Raised in Brooklyn, Chana’s love for design began early—fueled by a fascination with color, texture, and pattern. City living taught her how to make every inch count and sparked an appreciation for architectural detail. After moving outside the city, her perspective expanded to include more open, expressive elements—features that don’t need a function beyond being interesting. Today, that balance of practicality and personality shapes every project she leads. She honed her design skills at FIT before founding Binder Design Group.
Chana’s approach to every project starts with listening. She believes great design should reflect the people it’s intended for—how they want to live or work, not just how they want it to look. As a curator of materials, finishes, and ideas, she guides clients through the process, helping them make smart and confident decisions that result in spaces where people feel connected.
When she’s not leading projects, Chana volunteers as a financial coach, helping families gain financial freedom. As a busy mom of five, she has perfected the art of managing chaos, juggling priorities, and getting things done on tight timelines.
Lauren Benegas
Senior Designer / Project Manager
With a degree in architecture from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Lauren brings a strong foundation in design and planning to every project. Her early experience in architectural firms exposed her to residential, commercial, and civic work—but it was interiors that truly drew her in. She’s especially passionate about how finishes and details shape people's feelings in a space.
Raised in Bergen County, New Jersey, just outside New York City, Lauren was influenced by the contrast of old and new—modern design, historic preservation, and cultural diversity. That perspective continues to shape her belief that good design should be inclusive, accessible, and reflective of how people live and connect in real life.
Outside the studio, Lauren volunteers on her town’s design committee, hunts for vintage treasures, and spends weekends building Legos with her son, scouting out new sushi spots, or catching a comedy show with her husband.
Valeria Pierson
Interior Designer & Drafter
Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, Valeria brings a global perspective and a sharp eye for detail to the Binder Design Group team. With degrees in Industrial Design and Drafting & Design Technology, she supports the studio’s work through drafting, material sourcing, 3D modeling, and design development. Her international background influences her appreciation for color, contrast, and layered aesthetics—adding depth to every project she touches.
Valeria especially enjoys the creative process—taking an idea and helping shape it into something cohesive and buildable. Whether she’s finding the perfect samples or refining technical drawings, she brings consistency and care to every phase of the design process.
Outside of work, she loves discovering new restaurants, traveling to experience different cultures, and spending quiet weekends with her husband and their unexpectedly lovable cat, Nala.
